Buying baby gear? Read first?

I just married my sweetheart of four years in September. We know that we want to have a child.
I’m currently on a six-month detox & exercise program to get my body in perfect shape before TTC.
We know that it’s early, but we thought it would be a good idea to start buying the necessities for the baby, like the crib, stroller, etc. We have a spare bedroom that is used for storage where we could keep everything boxed until time for baby.
Obviously, we won’t buy anything gender-specific yet. We thought this would be a good way to prepare & not break the bank. But, is it too early? Are we getting ahead of ourselves?

So you have been to your GP and had all the nessersary checks If you got all the OK I don’t see why not
you might thank your self in the long run !
On the other hand
Then if you do have difficulty getting pregnant you might beat your self up if all you see is baby gear .
I have been trying a year and I get a tad jealous when I see the baby adverts sad but that’s the way it goes.
